Donald has practiced acupuncture since 1998 and also brings a background in nursing, advanced oncology acupuncture training, and extensive experience supporting patients with a variety of health concerns.
One of the things that makes his practice different is its hybrid treatment model.
Patients can choose between private acupuncture sessions and more affordable semi-private treatments, allowing them to find an option that works for their preferences, needs, and budget.
His practice also offers specialized services focused on pain management, supportive cancer care, and other wellness concerns.
With so much experience and such a distinctive approach to care, Donald needed a website that could communicate what made Maine Zen Den different.

When Donald first reached out to Virtuwell Balance, he was in the process of transitioning from his previous acupuncture practice website design to a new online presence for Maine Zen Den.
He had already invested in his brand identity and had a vision for his website, but finding the time to finalize the content and bring everything together was proving difficult.
And as his practice continued to evolve, having a professional online presence was becoming increasingly important.
He wanted prospective patients to understand his services, learn about his specialized experience, and recognize the different treatment options available at Maine Zen Den.
He also had a particular goal of becoming better known in his community for his work in oncology acupuncture.

For this project, our team focused on redesigning Donald's website on Wix, working with his existing branding to create a more cohesive, professional, and welcoming online experience.

We wanted visitors to be able to understand the practice's approach, explore their treatment options, and find the information they needed without feeling overwhelmed.
The website also needed to highlight Donald's extensive background and specialized training, particularly in oncology acupuncture, while remaining approachable to people who might be exploring acupuncture for the first time.

The Results: An Exciting Increase in Website Traffic After Launch
One of the best parts of our work is hearing from clients after their new websites go live.
Shortly after launching his redesigned website, Donald reached out to share some exciting early results from his website analytics.
He compared traffic from September 24–30, the week before launch, with October 1–7, the week after.
Here's what he found:
Website sessions increased from 21 to 448, an increase of 2,033%.
Unique visitors increased from 3 to 397, an increase of 13,133%.
That's a substantial difference in just one week!
Of course, it's important to remember that website traffic can fluctuate for several reasons, particularly around a new website launch. These early figures don't tell us exactly what caused the increase or how many visitors became patients.
But it was wonderful to hear from Donald so soon after launch and see such a significant increase in his reported website activity :)
